Melanie Ferrabone and friends invite you to “Bassone”, a Bassoon recital that will be held on Saturday, December 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the Events Room of the National Library Ernesto J. Castillero. The purpose of this recital is to present this beautiful instrument to people who have never heard it, masterfully interpreting a varied repertoire, where the audience enjoys a variety of composers from different eras and styles.

By purchasing a ticket for this event you will be helping Melanie to continue her studies of the Masters in Bassoon at the prestigious music school at the University of Miami, Frost School of Music.

In the presentation will be talented musicians collaborating with Melanie, they are: Christian Peñalosa (piano), Manuel Ruiz (flute), Alexis Fong (clarinet), Diego Burgos (oboe) and Erick De León (horn). The repertoire to be performed will be: “Sonata for Bassoon and Piano” by Camille Saint-Saëns, “Elegy of Innocence” by Jeff Scott, “Color Stones” by Jenny Brandon and “Potpourri Fantastic” by Giulio Briccialdi.
